Allen Jiang, Ph.D.

Executive Director, Medicinal Chemistry

Dr. Yu (Allen) Jiang joined Pharmaron in 2011 as executive director in medicinal chemistry. From 2001-2011, Dr. Jiang worked at Lundbeck Research USA as Project Leader/Senior Research Scientist where he engaged in research to discover new drugs for the treatment of CNS disorders, including depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and insomnia. As a Project Leader/Medicinal Chemist of multiple CNS projects, Dr. Jiang made significant contributions to the discovery of several clinical candidates and to the progression of early projects to discovery projects. For these efforts he was twice honored with the “Extraordinary Contribution in Drug Discovery” award (2007 and 2010). Since 2008, he has been the Chemical Hygiene Officer with responsibilities of supporting the corporate EH&S system, establishing and maintaining local contingency plans, preparing and maintaining relevant documents, tools and databases.

 

Prior to Lundbeck, Dr. Jiang obtained a Ph.D degree in organic chemistry in 2001 from Princeton University, under the supervision of Prof. Marty Semmelhack. He obtained a M.Sc. in Material science in 1994 and a B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry in 1992 from University of Science and Technology of China.
