Analytical Chemistry / Separations

The Pharmaron analytical chemistry department is responsible for the characterization and quality control of compounds synthesized by our chemists. The separations group within the analytical chemistry department specializes in chiral and achiral purifications (SFC, HPLC) on scales ranging from milligrams to hundreds of grams.

Instrumentation:
Numerous LC/MS (including UFLC/MS and UPLC/MS with PDA and ELSD detectors); HPLC, GC/MS, GC and Headspace-GC; Bruker NMR: 400 MHz & 300 MHz; MS directed Prep-HPLC, Prep-HPLC; Waters Autopurification Systems; Thar SFC (Analytical and Preparative); FT-IR; UV-Vis; KF titrator, polarimeter.

Recent Projects:
  • Separated 10 g of product from a regioisomer impurity with analytical HPLC method development, preparative HPLC scale up and product characterization in 2 days.
  • Completed multiple 100 g chiral separations of a poorly soluble spiro-ring intermediate using SFC technology.
