Anthony Partridge, Ph.D.
Senior Director, Biology
Dr. Anthony Partridge joined Pharmaron in 2011 as Senior Director of Biology. Dr. Partridge brings with him several years of drug discovery experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology arenas. Most recently, he was In Vitro Pharmacology Capability Lead in the xDPS group at Merck, where he helped pioneer collaborative efforts with CRO partners in China focusing on assay development and screening for SAR campaigns. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Scientist at the Merck Frosst Centre for Therapeutic Research in Montreal where he established biophysics capabilities and led projects in the areas of HTS assay design, hit triage, lead identification, and lead optimization. As a Scientist at Élan Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Partridge established academic collaborations for target validation, co-led protein purification and characterization efforts and also co-led a small molecule hit identification program.
As a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Scripps/UCSD (2003 – 2006), Dr. Partridge published several papers which uncovered key structure/function details of integrin activation - a process of broad and significant biological importance.
Dr. Partridge has authored twenty peer-reviewed scientific publications in top journals such as Cell, J. Clin. Invest., and JBC. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Guelph in 1998, his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2003 and post-doctoral training at Scripps/UCSD (2003-2006).
