Becky (Qing) Cai, M.D., Ph.D.

 

Dr. Becky (Qing) Cai joined Bridge Laboratories as Pharmacology Director in 2006 prior to its acquisition by Pharmaron. She was the first Director on board since its opening in Beijing in 2006. Dr. Cai has been instrumental in building the technical capabilities in preclinical services with an emphasis on pharmacology, safety pharmacology and related toxicology. In addition, Dr. Cai has made significant contributions for the company’s AAALAC program, OHS and IACUC Program and has been providing scientific and technical expertise for business development.

 

At present, Dr. Cai is leading the Safety Pharmacology Program at Pharmaron, a role in which she works closely with our partners. In addition, she oversees all the awarded studies to our Safety Pharmacology Department, which primarily involves cardiovascular studies but also includes central nervous system and respiratory safety pharmacology studies and integrated drug discovery and safety evaluation studies.

 

Dr. Cai earned her medical degree from Hunan (Xiang Ya) Medical College in 1987 and Ph.D from Peking Union Medical University in 1992 in China.

 

Dr. Cai has extensive experience in biomedical research, drug discovery and development at research institutions, the pharmaceutical industry and CROs. Specifically, she has worked at Oxford University, Harvard Medical School, New England Primate Research Center, University College London Hospital, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals Europe.
