Hong Xu, Ph.D.

Senior Director, Informatics

Dr. Hong Xu joined Pharmaron in 2004 and was promoted to the positions of Director in 2005 and Senior Director of ChemInformatics in 2006. She received her Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry (computational chemistry) from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Xu is responsible for the day-to-day activity of the Department of ChemInformatics in the company. She co-developed (with Pharmaron-US) a proprietary database system - CEDAR™ (Chemical Exchange, Data Access, and Recall) - to handle the special needs of our business in the area of informatics and to provide electronic storage and representation of chemical and reaction data and documentation.
