Jianmin Fu, Ph.D.

 

 

Dr. Jianmin Fu has over 17 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in the areas of central nervous system, inflammation, iron overload, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases targeting enzymes, GPCRs, ion channels and transporters in drug discovery research. Before joining Pharmaron in January, 2011, Dr. Fu held the position of Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Xenon Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Fu also worked at Pharmacia/Pfizer (Kalamazoo), Cadus Pharmaceuticals and Allelix Biopharmaceuticals and contributed significantly to the advancement of a number of biologically active molecules. During his career, Dr. Fu was responsible for the discovery and development of three clinical compounds. Dr. Fu has authored 16 professional publications and is the inventor of 87 granted or published patent applications.

 

Dr. Fu obtained his B.Sc. degree from the East China University of Science and Technology, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Prof. Victor Snieckus. He conducted his post-doctoral research at the University of Montreal in Professor Stephen Hanessian’s laboratories.
