Karen Wang, Ph.D.

Dr. Karen Wang joined Pharamaron in 2006 and is in charge of clinical pathology, histopathology and necropsy.
Dr. Wang has over 20 years of experience in pathology. Her academic career started at the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, where she was an Associate Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Pathology. In that role, she conducted independent and collaborative research on toxicologic pathology and infectious pathology. She was responsible for necropsies and histopathological evaluations/interpretations of toxicity studies for multiple animal species. She provided gross, light microscopic and electron microscopic interpretation of submitted tissues, resulting in comprehensive reports of pathologic findings. One area of her scientific focus was the identification of novel pathogens through the use of immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy techniques. During her tenure at the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Dr. Wang advised graduate students and postgraduate fellows, serving as a mentor for Ph.D. candidates.
Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in pathology and pathophysiology, a master degree in veterinary pathology and a B.S. in veterinary medicine. She is certified by the Chinese College of Veterinary Pathologists.
