Dr. Charles Liu Joins Pharmaron as Senior Vice President of In Vivo Pharmacology, Oncology -

Pharmaron announced today the appointment of Dr. Charles Liu as Senior Vice President, In Vivo Pharmacology, Oncology. Dr. Liu received his M.D. from Tianjin University and a Ph.D. in cancer biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Following post doctoral studies at Kansas University Medical Center, Dr. Liu worked for over ten years at US pharmaceutical companies OSI Pharmaceuticals and DuPont/Incyte Pharmaceuticals. As a team leader, three novel anticancer agents advanced from preclinical research to human clinical trials. Tarceva was approved for marketing in November, 2004 as second-line treatment for non-small cell lung cancer and combined with gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer treatment in November, 2005. Two other agents, HuC424-DM1 antibody-drug conjugate for treatment of colon cancer and Virulizin for pancreatic cancer; are in Phase III clinical trials.
Prior to joining Pharmaron, Dr. Liu was a Senior Research Fellow at Crown BioSciences.
