Shawn Lu, M.S.
Associate Director, Immunology and Assay Support
Mr. Shawn Lu serves as the Associate Director of Immunology and Assay Support at the Preclinical Services Laboratory of Pharmaron. His primary responsibilities include directing immunology research and managing the immunology department activities, including development, validation, implementation of immunoassays, cell-based assay, and FACS-based assays for preclinical and clinical drug development for clients.
Mr. Lu has over 16 years of experience in immunology, protein chemistry, molecular biology, physiology and microbiology research. He has more than 10 years of experience in bioanalytical assay development and validation for PK/TK analysis, biomarker evaluation and immunogenicity assessment to support biologic drug research and development in the biotech company and contract research organization. He has strong expertise in immunoassay design, development, validation, pre-clinical/clinical sample bioanalysis and product testing. Additionally, he has good knowledge on GLP, GCP and GMP regulations and ICH guidelines.
Prior to joining Pharmaron, Mr. Lu served as a bioanalytical scientist at Tanox Inc (merged with Genentech in 2007)
Mr. Lu holds a M.Sc. degree from Montana State University in Microbiology, a M.Sc. in Physiology and a B.S. in Biology degree from the East China Normal University.
