Dr. Wenju Wu joined Pharmaron as Executive Director of Physical Property and Preformulation in June 2010. Prior to this appointment, he worked for eight years in the Pharmaceutical Product Development division at Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development LLC (JJPRD). Dr. Wu was a principal scientist at JJPRD and led a team involved in early drug research & development. In these areas, his team conducted solid state form characterization, solubility, stability, salt/polymorph screening/selection, and formulation development (preclinical and FIH); making recommendations to the project teams after comprehensive evaluations of various solid forms. At JJPRD, Dr. Wu contributed significantly in solving solid-form related problems encountered during development, providing inputs to relevant process development for manufacturing and scale-up of the selected forms. Dr Wu received the Philip B. Hofmann Award in 2008. 
 
Dr. Wu obtained his Ph. D. in 1995 at University at Buffalo under the supervision of Professor Carel J. van Oss and Rossman F. Giese. He pursued his postdoctoral research under Professor George H. Nancollas. He was then appointed as research assistant professor in 1998. Dr Wu received his master and bachelor degree, 1988 and 1983, respectively, at Peking University.
 
Dr. Wu is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and three patents.
