The Cramlington Site in Newcastle, United Kingdom, has an established history of cGMP manufacturing services for an array of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), ranging from pilot scale to commercial metric ton scale. The Cramlington Site has more than 100 cubic meter reactor commercial capacity and has been inspected and approved by the MHRA, FDA and other regulatory authorities.

The site operates from small scale in the laboratory through to very large manufacturing scale. It also offers chemistry and analytical development services.

The Pharmaron Cramlington Team is looking to expand and recruit a QC Team Leader to support the business and client requirements, provide scientific skill and leadership to solve high complexity issues for assigned projects and / or initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In a multidisciplinary environment, design, plan and optimise work.
  • Ensure adherence to the site Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Solve problems of higher complexity for assigned projects and / or initiatives with limited guidance from a scientific supervisor / line manager.
  • Keep current on new technologies related to the job function.
  • Document and report results in a manner consistent with cGMP, departmental practices, and governing policies, as applicable, which include significant contributions to manufacture of API.
  • With guidance, align cross functional project efforts as required to maximise the broader contribution of the business in delivering client requirements.
  • Serve as a scientific mentor and leader to associated staff and a strong scientific colleague to peers.

Qualification

  • Degree or equivalent in chemistry or related field.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of strong industrial achievement with multiple years experience in laboratory roles.
  • Evidence of experience in successful application of analytical / physical skill sets to resolve high complexity chemical and analytical challenges such as those required within the role.
  • Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
  • Management of teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
