Use of ELISpot and Fluorospot in Bioanalytical & Analytical Testing
Recorded: February 2025
This webinar is designed for experienced ELISpot users and scientists who want to learn more about its applications in bioanalytical testing. We’ll discuss ELISpot/FluoroSpot capabilities in-depth, emphasizing using the technology for Cell & Gene Therapy studies. Some topics will include single-plex vs multiplex cytokine secretion analysis, advantages in using Mabtech’s RAWspot Technology for spot counting, immunogenicity screening of biotherapeutics, and much more. The presentation will also include a detailed overview of ELISpot Method Qualification, and a case study on ELISpot validation conducted by Pharmaron, which will help you to save time and money.
Agenda
1. How to choose between single-plex and multiplex cytokine secretion analysis
2. The unique advantages of Mabtech's RAWspot Technology for precise spot counting
3. Best practices for immunogenicity screening of biotherapeutics.
4. A comprehensive guide to ELISpot Method Qualification.
5. A real-world case study on ELISpot validation by Pharmaron that demonstrates how to save time and reduce costs.
Speakers
Renata Varnaite – Field Application Specialist at Mabtech
Renata is a Field Application Specialist at Mabtech. She completed her PhD in Medical Science at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden in 2022. During her research studies, she utilized FluoroSpot assays to measure human T-cell and B-cell responses to infections and vaccines. Having joined Mabtech in 2023 she helps Mabtech’s customers to effectively apply ELISpot/FluoroSpot technology in different therapeutic areas, including cell and gene therapy.
Babette Haven – Associate Director Bioassay at Pharmaron
Babette is the Associate Director of the Bioassay group at Pharmaron (Boston) Lab Services LLC. Her group is responsible for transfer, development, validation, and sample analysis involving bioassays such as NAb, ELISpot, and potency assays. Ms. Haven has been with Pharmaron (Boston) for close to 20 years and received her B.A. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Ken Krygier – Sr. Scientist I at Pharmaron
Ken is a Sr. Scientist I in the Bioassay group at Pharmaron (Boston) Lab Services LLC. Mr. Krygier holds a B.Sc. in Biology with an emphasis in neuroscience from Emmanuel College. His areas of expertise include developing and validating methods for the characterization of T-cells, such as ELISpot assays and multi-color flow cytometry assays in support of clinical studies and drug product release and stability testing.
