Paul Young – Director of Process Science at Pharmaron

Paul Young is Director of Process Science at Pharmaron Biologics in Liverpool, UK, with over 20 years’ experience in biologics development. He specialises in upstream and downstream processing, with a strong focus on early-stage strategies for clinical product development.

He leads multidisciplinary teams delivering process development, scale-up, and technology transfer, supporting global CMC programmes from early development through to clinical and commercial readiness. Paul has a proven track record in client engagement, regulatory interactions, and delivering complex programmes within a CDMO environment.

Passionate about innovation, he drives the adoption of novel technologies and platform approaches to enhance efficiency, scalability, and product quality.

Mustafa Munye – VP of Strategy & Corporate Development at Complement Therapeutics

Mustafa Munye is VP of Strategy & Corporate Development and a founding team member at Complement Therapeutics who are a clinical stage biotech developing CTx001, an AAV gene therapy for geographic atrophy. With deep cell and gene therapy expertise from academia, GSK, and the CGT Catapult, he has led CMC and translational research for AAV, CAR-T, and PSC-derived therapies. A former BSGCT board member, Mustafa focuses on overcoming barriers to commercialising advanced therapies.

Juline Guenat – Lead Scientist at Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult

Juline Guenat is a bioprocessing scientist with over 10 years’ experience across biotechnology, and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products. She holds an engineering degree in biotechnology from ENSTBB, Bordeaux INP, and is currently Lead Scientist – Scalable Enable Technology at the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult. Her work focuses on developing scalable, closed, and automated bioprocesses for cell and gene therapies, with an emphasis on improving manufacturing productivity, process consistency, and cost-efficiency to support the translation of advanced therapies from early development towards clinical and commercial manufacture.

Taelor Patterson – Senior Manager, Process Sciences at Pharmaron

Taelor Patterson is a Senior Manager in Process Development at Pharmaron. With over 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry spanning GMP manufacturing, MSAT, and process development, she leads end-to-end development programmes from high-throughput process development through to clinical-phase manufacturing. Her expertise lies in advanced biologics and gene therapies, with a focus on developing and optimising robust, scalable, and regulatory-compliant processes that support successful technology transfer and clinical production.
