This study investigates how age impacts key anterior segment biometry in New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits, a commonly used model for preclinical ocular research.

Highlights from our anterior segment biometry poster:​

  • Corneal differences: Younger rabbits had thinner corneas and steeper curvature compared to older rabbits.​
  • Intraocular pressure: Higher in young rabbits (20.11 mmHg) versus older ones (18.19 mmHg).​
  • Anterior chamber volume: Significantly larger in older rabbits, while chamber depth remained similar across groups.​
  • Endothelial cells: No significant age-related differences in cell size or density.​

These findings highlight the importance of age when designing and interpreting ocular device studies in NZW rabbits.
