Thoralf Hartwig – Principal Process Engineer, Process Chemistry at Pharmaron

Dr. Thoralf Hartwig is a Principal Process Engineer in Process Chemistry at Pharmaron, where he leads a team of Process Engineers doing pharmaceutical process R&D and scale-up within the Process Chemistry department. Holding a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), he has 19 years of experience in API process development and TechTransfer (of which he spent 14 years at GSK), during which he has gathered in-depth process understanding across all standard unit operations in pharmaceutical processes. Thoralf has been lecturing continuously over 10 years, starting in 2015 at Imperial College and, since 2018, as a Visiting Professor at University College London (UCL). Outside work, Thoralf enjoys football, classical music, travelling, and spending time with family.

Filip Horvath-Gerber – Senior Process Engineer at Pharmaron

Dr. Filip Horvath-Gerber is a Senior Process Engineer at Pharmaron, where he is supporting client projects across development stages and scale-up. Furthermore, he is subject matter expert on jet milling and has a focus on capability developments at Pharmaron. With prior education in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, during his PhD Filip worked on diazomethane process development at Imperial College London. In his spare time, Filip enjoys mountaineering and ultramarathon running.
