In April 2018, Pharmaron hosted Professor Shuli You from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) to speak at the SCI Process Development conference in Cambridge, UK. Professor You’s presentation, “Catalytic asymmetric dearomatization (CADA) reactions,” disclosed recent developments from his group in this area and was well received by the audience of predominantly industrialists working in the field of chemical process development.

In May 2018, Pharmaron co-organized a workshop with Merck, Sharpe and Dohme (MSD) and SIOC. Key representatives from Pharmaron, MSD and SIOC presented on topics covering chemistry technologies that are enabling new advantages in drug discovery and process chemistry. Talks focused on new synthesis methodologies including asymmetric C-H oxidation, novel difluoroalkylation and creative biosynthesis of templated natural products, high throughput experimentation applied in lead optimization and chemistry innovation-driven drug discovery and process chemistry.

In addition, members of Pharmaron’s team presented recently at DIA China in Beijing (Strategies and Technologies in Early Clinical Drug Development to Maximize Program Outcomes), ISSX in Montreal (Radiolabelled ADME Studies of Large Molecules: What are the options) and ASCPT in Florida (AMS: Not Just for Drugs Anymore).
