Sustainability in the Supply Chain

Supply Chain Sustainability
Pharmaron has always adhered to responsible procurement and supply chain sustainability and continuously improved the full-process supply chain management mechanism. We strengthen our ability to control environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks in the supply chain, actively promote green procurement, and take responsibility for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion in the Supply Chain.
Pharmaron expects all third parties working with us, for us, or on our behalf to uphold the same ethical standards and values outlined in our Code of Conduct for Business Partners.

Supply Chain Management
Pharmaron has been committed to continuously refining its full-process supply chain management mechanism to strengthen its supply chain management. This ongoing improvement ensures that every aspect of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished services, is optimized for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Our rigorous evaluation of suppliers, incorporation of sustainability into approvals, and implementation of due diligence, focusing on compliance and sustainability risks, ensure responsible production and operations.

We employ tailored management approaches to ensure efficient supplier management by categorizing suppliers.

Through regular assessments, risk categorization, and comprehensive evaluations, including on-site inspections, questionnaires, and scorecards, we mitigate supply chain risks, enhance supplier performance, and ensure informed supplier selection decisions.

By prioritizing supply chain stability and employing strategies like safety stock and multi-sourcing, we safeguard against supply disruptions and ensure long-term supply stability for high-risk materials.
Green Procurement
Pharmaron prioritizes green procurement, integrating ESG requirements into supplier approval and favoring those meeting environmental standards. We prioritize low-carbon products, ISO 14000-certified suppliers for raw materials and equipment, and 3C-certified, first-grade energy-efficient electrical appliances. We emphasize solvent recycling and reuse and encourage eco-friendly production methods to minimize environmental impact and foster a green supply chain.
Case: Pharmaron UK’s Green Procurement Campaign
Pharmaron UK initiated the RED2GREEN campaign and partnered with stationery supplier Redbox. Pharmaron UK donates 99 pence to the charity organization The Green Earth for every order placed with Redbox. In cooperation with GiftTrees, donations are allocated for tree planting, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.
Supporting Value Chain Emission Reduction
Reducing carbon emissions in the value chain is vital for the low-carbon transformation and driving stakeholders towards carbon neutrality. Pharmaron has developed a supply chain emission reduction plan as part of its commitment to this effort. We aim to enable a low-carbon value chain and discover the potential for reduction through cooperation with suppliers and partners.
Supply Chain Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Pharmaron fully recognizes the strategic importance of supply chain diversity, facilitating win-win cooperation across the entire value chain and providing customers with more stable and reliable services. We have built a diverse and inclusive supply chain with seven key elements, organization, whistleblowing, monitoring, and reporting, to adapt comprehensively to the increasingly complex and volatile market environment.
Our diverse suppliers include small and micro enterprises, enterprises owned by people with disabilities or minority groups, and women-owned and veteran-owned enterprises. We do not limit the size of partnering enterprises and intentionally increase cooperation with diverse suppliers to foster innovation and maximize stakeholder value.
By expanding our supplier network and seeking cooperation with suppliers from different regions and industries, we effectively reduce our dependence on single sources of supply, mitigate potential regional or industry-specific risks, and enhance the supply chain’s resilience.
Communication and Collaboration with Suppliers
We communicate regularly with suppliers on key issues such as ethics, labor rights and human rights, health and safety, environment, business sustainability, diversity, and inclusivity. We provide learning materials to facilitate suppliers’ understanding of our values and help them meet our expectations through the Code of Conduct for Business Partners.
