Virtual Lecture: New Synthetic Methods for C-F Bond Formation: From Fundamental Science to Applications
Lecture held on: January 27, 2021
Presenter
Prof. Melanie Sanford β Department of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA
In this lecture, Prof. Melanie Sanford described her group’s recent advances in developing metal mediated/catalyzed methods for introducing fluorine into organic molecules. Prof. Sanford’s efforts into this area are guided by detailed fundamental studies of stoichiometric organometallic bond forming reactions. These fundamental studies are described in detail, as well as their translation to practical applications (particularly in the context of the synthesis of PET imaging agents).
